The workshop in detail

  • 3h
  • 2 to 6 participants
  • 10 years min.
  • During this workshop, Alette will introduce you to the linocut technique, derived from woodcutting. To do this, you will start by drawing your project. Don't panic, Alette will be there to help you if you are lacking inspiration.

Your design will be transferred onto a lino plate. You will learn to carve with a gouge in order to be as precise as possible and to obtain a quality lino cut.

Once the plate is carved, you will move on to inking. Using a rubber roller, you will apply a thin layer of ink on your plate and will finally be ready to discover the fruit of your labour! During this poetic moment, you will see your drawing come to life and discover your print in its final form.

You will leave this workshop with your design printed on a t-shirt, apron or tote-bag that you have brought along, as well as the plate that started it all. Nevertheless, you will have discovered an ancestral technique with Alette and will have all the keys to make your prints at home!

    Meet Alette

    Graphic Designer

After working for more than 15 years as a freelance digital graphic designer, Alette felt the need to create by hand.

She started a training in linocutting and carving, then letter press and bookbinding.

Her love for interactions with people naturally directed her towards teaching the techniques she now excels in.

These techniques are a way to slow down in a world where everything seems to go so fast. It's a perfect way to get out of your head and slow down.

She founded the Printmakers Club in 2022 to make graphic techniques accessible to all. Everyone can be creative!

When she is not dancing in her kitchen, she is completely obsessed by ink and can't wait to tell you all about it.

During the workshops, you will learn to work with different graphic techniques and be introduced to materials. So, are you ready?
