Meet Anita.

Leatherworker

Amsterdam

Leatherwork has been more than a profession for Anita; it's a lifelong passion that began at a young age. At just 10 years old, she was mesmerised by the tailoring workshop next to her parents' house, where the magic of sewing and creating clothing unfolded before her eyes. That moment ignited her dream, "I want to do this too!" From then on, she sewed her own clothes, replicating trendy styles from the shops she loved but found too expensive. Her path was clear—she had to pursue fashion at the prestigious Fashion Academy in Amsterdam.

In 1996, Anita took a momentous step by opening a leather clothing workshop at Europaplein, Amsterdam, with her partner. Together, they crafted collections for renowned fashion brands. Over the years, her passion grew, and she specialised in designing exquisite leather bags after completing her training in handbags and small leather goods.

Anita's journey took a fascinating turn in 2006 when she decided to share her craft and love for leather with others. She put up a notice on her window promoting courses, and word quickly spread, thanks to a glowing article in a well-known magazine. The response was overwhelming, with over 25 enthusiastic participants signing up in no time. Since then, Anita has shared her expertise with over 275 students from the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, and Greece, empowering them to create their dream bags and master the art of leatherwork.

As a devoted artisan, Anita thrives on unleashing the creativity of others and kindling their passion for the craft. Her boutique atelier is a true reflection of her warm and luminous personality, creating an inspiring space where students embark on their leatherwork journey.

Anita's dedication and enthusiasm shine through, making her a true inspiration in the world of leather craftsmanship. Her passion for sharing her skills and nurturing creativity in others is the cornerstone of her success as a mentor and artisan. With Anita, you'll delve into the captivating world of leatherwork and unlock your own artistic potential!
