Looking for an initiation into the art of jewellery making? Join Ching-Hui for an immersive 7-hour workshop with, where you'll learn the ancient South Korean technique of Keum Boo Jewellery and create your own stunning gold and silver jewellery set.
During this workshop, you'll start by using depletion gilding to create a pure silver surface on the top layer of sterling. Ching-Hui will then guide you to cut the foil, trace the earring form, and arrange the gold foil, before burnishing it over a hot plate. You'll also learn how to create texture on the silver surface, gain basic jewellery making skills, and even oxidise your jewellery for a black patina.
Ching-Hui will provide all the necessary tools and materials, including ZILVER (925/-) PLAAT, 24K gold foil thicker sheet, 925 silver jump rings, and 925 silver ear hooks. Plus, you'll get to enjoy a refreshing drink during the workshop.
This is your chance to discover the Keum Boo jewellery technique and create your own unique set. And at the end of the workshop, you'll leave with two stunning pieces of your choice, whether it's a set of earrings and a pendant, or a ring and bracelet set. Don't miss out on this unforgettable experience with Ching-Hui.

Jewellery Designer & Artist
Meet Ching-Hui Yang, the talented jewellery designer redefining the boundaries of her craft. With a degree in Fashion Jewellery from London College of Fashion and an MA in Material Futures from Central Saint Martins, Ching-Hui is a true expert in her field.
Ching-Hui's jewellery pieces are not only beautiful, but they also have a deeper purpose. Her focus on the relationship between body, object and the absence of an object is evident in every piece she creates. She believes that jewellery can be a powerful tool for communicating emotion between people, and is constantly experimenting with new materials and techniques to create innovative and thought-provoking pieces.
Her long-term goal of documenting and visualising emotions through her art aims to encourage a rethinking of the definition of empathy. She believes that design as a form of empathy is the visceral experience of another person's thoughts and feelings from his or her point of view. By helping people experience the emotion of creation, Ching-Hui hopes to facilitate more compassionate behaviours and encourage a more empathetic world.
Passionate, calm and careful, Ching-Hui is a true artist in every sense of the word. Her unique approach to jewellery-making and her passion for upcycling and recycling make her stand out in a crowded field. With her talent and dedication, there's no doubt that Ching-Hui Yang is a jewellery designer to watch.
