  • For this workshop, Hannah comes to your place. Participants are then invited to a six-hour weaving workshop, hosted by the skilled fibre artist Hannah, which offers an engaging and educational experience in the art of weaving.Ā

This workshop is tailored to provide a hands-on opportunity for individuals to create a distinctive, large wall hanging, reflective of their personal aesthetics and colour preferences.

Guided by Hannah's extensive knowledge and proficiency in weaving, participants will begin their project by choosing from a diverse range of yarns, allowing them to lay a personalised foundation for their artwork. The workshop covers the essential techniques of weaving, including the setup of the loom and the intricacies of warping. Furthermore, attendees will learn to craft various shapes, mastering both linear and curved designs.

This session goes beyond basic weaving techniques, encouraging participants to explore a variety of weaving methods. They will experiment with different patterns and textures, transforming their project from a simple craft into a unique piece of art. Hannah's guidance is structured to empower participants, enhancing their ability to make independent artistic decisions and foster their creative expression.

Upon completion of the workshop, each participant's hand-crafted wall hanging will be elegantly mounted on a dowel, ready for exhibition. The size will be approximately 50cm (L) by 30cm (W), or a similar size depending on your progress.

This workshop is ideal for those looking to enhance their living or work space with a personal creation, or for anyone seeking to delve into new artistic territories.

    Meet Hannah

    Fibre artist

Hannah Emerson is the talented fiber artist behind Tethered Twine. With a passion for creating beautiful, tangible pieces, Hannah has been a creative soul since childhood. Her love for drawing, painting and creating friendship bracelets paved the way for her artistic journey.

After obtaining degrees in Psychology and Fine Arts, Hannah's interests in macrame, weaving and crochet blossomed. She began creating stunning wall hangings that eventually led her to sell her pieces online in 2019. But that's not all, Hannah is also a data analyst, balancing her time between work and her passion.

Hannah's cozy shared atelier is where the magic happens. She's always eager to teach and share her knowledge with anyone who wants to learn. It's no surprise that she settled in Amsterdam after coming as a fille au pair for a gap year in 2010.

In recent years, Hannah has found joy in teaching workshops to share her knowledge and expertise with others. Her love for teaching is just as strong as her passion for creating, and she will be glad to welcome you at one of her workshops.
