Welcome to Luis' beautiful studio for an introduction to Ornate Spine Binding!
After a theoretical presentation of bookbinding, the tools and the technique created by Luis, you too will start making your own notebook.
With its A6 format and soft cover, it will be your daily companion.
Luis will have already prepared 3 notebooks, ready to be bound. If you want to learn how to prepare the notebooks, Luis also offers a longer workshop where all the steps are covered.
For this workshop, which focuses on sewing the notebook, you will have the opportunity to choose your colour.
Then, armed with a punch and a needle, you will first draw the pattern and prepare the holes before threading the thread of your choice.
Patience and delicacy will be your watchwords for this meditative workshop!
You will leave the workshop with a lot of new knowledge as well as your notebook which is waiting to be filled with your thoughts!

Meet Luis
Bookbinder
As a self-taught artist, Luis Marujo entered the world of bookbinding through his passion for writing. He creates books to hold his poems, texts and thoughts.
A few years ago, he found the time to devote himself fully to his new passion: bookbinding. He trained online and developed his own techniques. He has created several ornamental binding techniques and offers hundreds of different designs to embellish notebooks.
Nowadays, he is known for his beautiful and original ornamental bindings. Calm and creative at the same time, he shares his know-how on social networks and wishes to allow anyone who is curious to learn it.

J'ai particuliĆØrement apprĆ©ciĆ© sa patience, sa gentillesse et sa gĆ©nĆ©rositĆ© (nous sommes repartis avec un carnet Ć relier Ć la maison!). Je vous conseille cet atelier, accessible Ć tous.tes... et Ć tous les portefeuilles vu sa qualitĆ© :)
