This workshop is your chance to learn the traditional art of gilding on glass.
You'll start by gaining hands-on experience with the essential tools such as the gilding cushion, point and knife. Under Estitxu's expert guidance, you'll master the delicate technique of applying shimmering sheets of gold and silver leaf to glass.
Once you've got the basics down, it's time to get creative! You'll experiment with distressing the metal leaf to create a range of stunning finishes, each adding a unique texture and character to your work. Then let your imagination run wild as you learn to design and draw intricate patterns on the gold-plated surface, transforming it into a piece of art that's uniquely yours.
At the end of the workshop, you'll have a sparkling creation to take home.Ā

Meet Estitxu, a talented artisan with over 30 years experience in the delicate art of glass gilding - also known as Verre ĆglomisĆ©. Her passion is transforming sheets of glass into masterpieces using gold, silver and copper leaf, combining ancient techniques with modern innovations. Estitxu's bespoke creations range from stand-alone works of art to eye-catching decorative panels and unique pieces of furniture.
Beyond her own artistry, Estitxu enthusiastically shares her knowledge with others. She's keen to inspire a new generation to appreciate and create with this timeless art.

Estitxu is a fantastic teacher with 40+ years of Glass gilding. She is very knowledgeable, talented and patient. I had a great time and I will be attending another class next year. You could easily spend 4-6 hours at this class. I had no precious experience but learnt something new and very different. Really proud of my first piece of glass gilding. Thank you, Estitxu.
