Discover the joy of working with clay in a pottery throwing workshop led by Raymond. During this session you'll learn essential throwing techniques, from centering the clay to shaping and pulling the walls of your vessel. Raymond will share his tips and tricks and help you experience working with clay while letting your imagination run wild.
Each participant will create a unique piece and if you would like to add a handle to your creation (perfect for a mug) you can do so for an additional £8. All materials are included and once your piece is finished it is carefully fired, trimmed and transparent glazed to perfection. (Add on £12 for colour glaze).
Patience is key as your finished piece will be ready for collection in approximately 7 weeks.

Ontmoet Raymond
Ceramic Artist
Raymond, a potter with a unique philosophical approach, draws his inspiration from Daoism, particularly the concept of "emptiness." This principle, central to his craft, influences his perspective on the functionality and purpose of his ceramic creations. He believes that just as the empty space within a ceramic vessel renders it useful, embracing emptiness in life can lead to clarity and a harmonious balance.
In his pottery, Raymond focuses on capturing and celebrating the simple yet profound elements of everyday life. His work is a testament to the beauty of the ordinary, a reminder that joy can be found in the most mundane aspects of daily existence.
Raymond's primary goal is to craft vessels that are not only functional but also imbue a sense of tranquility and mindfulness into daily routines.
By integrating this philosophy into his pottery, Raymond offers more than just ceramic pieces; he provides an experience, a chance to find balance and peace in the act of using his vessels. Each piece is a reflection of his belief in the importance of simplicity, functionality, and the profound impact of 'emptiness' in bringing balance to both art and life.
5 of us really enjoyed the workshop with Raymond. He was very attentive, and we all felt supported during the rather messy but fun process! Highly recommended.
