Step into Rachel's creative studio and discover the art of hand-building with clay! This engaging workshop will take you through the process of creating your very own mug and bowl set.
The session begins with an introduction to Rachel, an experienced ceramic artist who will share her passion for working with clay. You'll be introduced to her studio, a welcoming and inspiring environment. Rachel will guide you through the basics of working with clay, explaining the techniques and tools that make hand-building such a rewarding craft.
You'll then dive straight into the practical experience of learning how to shape and form clay. Rachel will guide you through basic hand-building techniques such as coiling and pinching, allowing you to practice and develop your skills as you go. These methods are perfect for beginners and experienced creators alike, with plenty of room for personal expression.
As you practise, you'll begin to create your own set: a mug and a bowl. Rachel will offer expert advice and encouragement every step of the way. By the end of the workshop you'll have a bespoke pottery set brought to life with your own hands.

Ontmoet Rachel Cox Ceramics
Ceramicist
Rachel Cox has both a First Class Degree in Ceramics and a Masters in Ceramics
from the Royal College Art. She is a qualified teacher with extensive experience
having taught and managed ceramics departments in various Arts Colleges across
London. Rachel offers ceramics workshops in her fully equipped studio in
Wandsworth, South West London. Classes are rooted in uncovering and exploring
creativity through the expression of clay, where small group sizes ensure in-depth
student focus.
Rachel Cox is a practicing studio ceramicist exhibiting her work through galleries
nationally and in Europe. Colour and tactility are central to her wheel-thrown work,
where simple forms and textural surfaces intimately explore the emotional
connection between the ceramic material and its audience. With almost two decades
of working in the industry, Rachel has a deep knowledge of ceramic techniques and
practices.
