The workshop in detail

  • 1h30
  • 10 to 30 participants
  • 15 years min.
  • Led by Moritz, the founder of SauerCrowd, this workshop is designed to give your group practical knowledge and skills in the field of probiotic fermentation. Over the course of 1 1/2 hours, you will learn about the importance of gut health and its connection to fermented foods, as well as how to make your own lacto-fermented vegetables.

The workshop starts with a 30-minute introduction to gut health, covering topics such as the gut microbiome and the benefits of probiotics and prebiotics. You can enjoy tea, coffee or water provided while you listen.

You will then spend an hour actually fermenting vegetables. You can choose to make kimchi, sourdough or a mix of seasonal garden vegetables. Moritz will guide you through the process and you will leave with 1-2 jars of your creations to take home.

After the workshop, your group will also receive a digital fermentation handbook with care instructions for your fermented vegetables, recipes and tips for diversifying your gut microbiome. This knowledge will enable you to continue fermenting at home with confidence!

NB: These workshops usually take place on Friday afternoons or Saturdays and are taught in English. You are welcome to stay for drinks and socialising afterwards.
