Discover dyeing techniques with Pauline the weaver!Â
In her incredible workshop, she will explain in detail how plant dyeing works. There's an infinite range of colours you can obtain from metals and plants. This time, you will be focusing on indigo, for a beautiful intense blue!Â
First, you will start by prepping your piece of fabric. Shibori is a technique that Pauline often uses. She will show you the different stipes with knotting and folding for a personalised final result.Â
Afterwards, you will get the dye bath ready where you will be soaking the fabrics. You may need to repeat this several times depending on how deep you want the colour to be.Â
As you unfold the rinsed fabric, you will reveal a pattern of your own creation.Â
After gently drying it, you will leave with your dyed piece and new skills in this fascinating area!Â

Having trained at La Cambre in textiles, Pauline is an artisan weaver with a passion for working with wool. From the sheep to the final creation, she's an expert at every stage, from shearing, sorting, and carding, to spinning, weaving, and dyeing, etc.Â
And she wants to share all of it with you in this workshop! Her final study year project, Blackwool, ended up turning into a lifetime project. And the concept behind it? Promoting the wool from Brussels sheep by running workshops for children and adults!Â
Combining education, her love of the local area and her passion for textiles, she has since devoted herself full time to this project. Her work showcases the local wool and modernises the craft! She gets her wool from David, a shepherd with a flock of brown sheep in Brussels, as well as from Belgian and French individuals who own sheep and want the wool to be used for something worthwhile.Â
Once shorn, the wool is sent to spinning mills near Namur and in Bordeaux. She can't wait to welcome you to her Ali Baba's cave of delights! What with all the looms, the cushions, the old spinning wheels and the natural wool, a journey of discovery awaits you!

Un atelier trĂšs sympa. Bonne ambiance, on se plonge dans le "travail" et on ressort avec un souvenir concret. Je conseille
