Join fibre artist Hannah 2,5-hours initiation into the world of weaving! In this workshop, you will be introduced to the art of circular weaving and learn how to create your own wall tapestry from scratch with a round frame.
You will start by choosing the colours you want to work with. You can choose from a variety of yarns to create a unique and personalised wall tapestry.
Once you have chosen your colours, Hannah will teach you how to make a circle weave loom using a 20cm diameter metal ring and some string. Then you will learn several weaving techniques, including the tabby weave, soumak weave, piling technique, knotting technique, and rya knot technique. You will use these weaving techniques to fill your circular weave loom.
Hannah will teach you how to finish off your project and give you some tips and tricks along the way. Afterwards, you will have the skills to create many more circular weaves of any size loom you desire.
Throughout the workshop, you can sip on coffee, tea or water, as you let your creativity flow.
You'll love Hannah's passion for weaving, and her desire to share this incredible craft with others.
By the end of the workshop, you'll have your very own beautiful round wall tapestry to take home with you. Join Hannah for a fun-filled day of weaving, creativity, and discovery!

Hannah Emerson is the talented fiber artist behind Tethered Twine. With a passion for creating beautiful, tangible pieces, Hannah has been a creative soul since childhood. Her love for drawing, painting and creating friendship bracelets paved the way for her artistic journey.
After obtaining degrees in Psychology and Fine Arts, Hannah's interests in macrame, weaving and crochet blossomed. She began creating stunning wall hangings that eventually led her to sell her pieces online in 2019. But that's not all, Hannah is also a data analyst, balancing her time between work and her passion.
Hannah's cozy shared atelier is where the magic happens. She's always eager to teach and share her knowledge with anyone who wants to learn. It's no surprise that she settled in Amsterdam after coming as a fille au pair for a gap year in 2010.
In recent years, Hannah has found joy in teaching workshops to share her knowledge and expertise with others. Her love for teaching is just as strong as her passion for creating, and she will be glad to welcome you at one of her workshops.
I really enjoyed the workshop, Hannah is great at explaining how to weave and I am pretty happy with how mine turned out. She had lots of colors/thickness of yarn available so everyone could choose their own colour scheme and pattern. Would definitely go to another workshop by Hannah!
