The workshop in detail

  • 4h
  • 3 to 6 participants
  • 15 years min.
  • Enter Anna's friendly world for an introduction to ceramics!

This passionate artisan will welcome you to her studio.

The session will begin with an introduction to ceramics and its different modelling techniques.

With Anna's guidance, you will then create a round plate for the base of your basket, before using the colombin technique to create the height.

The stoneware used for this workshop has a special feature: it contains pyrite flakes which explode and vitrify when fired at 1250°, giving your creation a unique appearance.

Once your piece has been modelled, you can leave it with the artisan who will dry, glaze and fire it.

You can come back a few weeks later to collect your work, ready to decorate your home!

NB: The artisan will adapt to the language of each participant to ensure an enriching and creative experience for all.

    Wecandoo - Meet Anna

    Meet Anna

    Ceramist

Anna is originally from the West of France and studied art at Estienne, Paris, where she specialised in typography. She then chose to perfect her motion design skills at the Gobelins, l'école de l'image.

She then moved to Brussels where she lived for 8 years, working in graphic design, brand concepts, visual identity and logotype creation, as a freelance designer.

After a few years, she decided to fly to North America for a road trip across the country ending at Vancouver. But it was in Toronto that she began working as a graphic designer for a year. There, she discovered ceramics, and it turned from a hobby into a real passion!

She then took several courses in Toronto and Montreal with experienced ceramists and then decided to return to Brussels, her adoptive city. Anna took things further and enrolled at the Academy of Arts in Brussels to hone her skills.

She now wants to teach others about what she experienced in Canada, about discovering clay as a material, the experience of calmness and feeling at peace with yourself as you work, the kind of creativity that you can develop, a passion that you can pass on to others.

She can't wait to welcome you to her pleasant, cosy workshop to teach you how to model stoneware and porcelain. Meet her!
