The workshop in detail
Step inside Stefanie's workshop for a gentle discovery of the world of felt!
You will start with a presentation of the workshop and the history of the craftswoman. She will briefly describe her commitments and her wool working techniques.
Then, you will select the wool of your choice. The wool used comes from Stefanie's parents' blacknose sheep farm. Several colours will be offered thanks to the dyeing skills of the craftswoman!
Then it's time to get down to business! You will place the wool on the cushion cover of your choice. Stefanie will have made the covers from vintage sweatshirts and haute couture fabrics. It's up to you to choose your favourite!
The craftswoman will guide you through the felting process so that the result is harmonious. You will have to test, repeat and improve the positioning of the wool fibres of different colours!
You will then carry out the felting known as "needle felting", a technique that Stéfanie will share with great teaching and passion.
Once the felting is done, Stefanie will help you sew the cushion and fill it with wool and lavender.
You will leave the workshop with your beautiful, unique and warm felted wool cushion. It will make a tasteful addition to your home!

Meet Stefanie
Felt Specialist
Stefanie's passion and artistic practice is closely linked to the history of her favourite material: the wool of her family's Blacknose sheep in Switzerland! As a by-product of sheep breeding, Stefanie is interested in wool and is passionate about her work!
The artisan felt-maker has studied and worked with textiles from every angle. She has worked as a stylist for major luxury houses such as Balenciaga, Akris and Hermès, where she also developed her embroidery skills.
It was during a 6-month artist residency in Mexico that she became interested in felting and natural dyeing, her two current loves! She perfected her art there and once back in Belgium.
Committed and passionate, Stefanie started both the artistic creation of felted wool and the organisation of workshops to share her passion and allow the curious to discover the ancestral work of wool!
