The workshop in detail

  • 3h45
  • 4 to 10 participants
  • 16 years min.
  • Join us in our workshop space for a delightful evening where you will learn the art of Polish pierogi! This fun workshop is perfect for food lovers of all skill levels. You'll learn to make these beloved dumplings from scratch, using our very own e5 heritage flour, freshly milled on site.

You'll be kneading, rolling and filling your pierogis with a variety of fillings that you will prepare as well. Whether you prefer them boiled or fried you'll have plenty of options to customise your creations with a range of toppings. As a side you will be making a traditional red cabbage salad, surówkam, that sits really well next to the moreish dumplings.

After the hands on session, you'll gather around the table to enjoy the fruits of your labour. Savour your self-made pierogis over a glass of wine, beer or kombucha in a cosy and communal setting, dining at our long table. It's a perfect way to spend an evening with great food, learning new skills and taking home all the leftovers...

Notes: This is a vegetarian cooking class, if you are following a plant based diet, please let us know and we will make some adjustments.

Introducing Ania and the E5 team: Crafting Sourdough Magic with a Purpose

In the heart of London, there's a brand that has been baking irresistible sourdough bread for over a decade. E5, born as a bakery, has become a symbol of culinary excellence, delighting both the public and renowned restaurants.

E5's expertise lies in the art of sourdough, creating heavenly loaves and mouthwatering pizzas. But their impact goes beyond the kitchen. They embrace an ethical and sustainable approach, making a difference in their community and championing organic practices.

Beyond baking, E5 collaborates with refugees in their Poplar Bakehouse, offering them a chance to rebuild their lives through the therapeutic power of bread-making. Profits are invested in associations supporting refugee communities in the UK, fostering empowerment and a sense of belonging.

Sustainability is at the core of E5's values. They proudly own Fellows Farm in Suffolk, transforming previously intensively farmed arable fields into vibrant hubs of biodiversity and regenerative agriculture. The farm supplies the bakery with a weekly harvest of cereals, vegetables and fruit.

Step into E5's enchanting world housed under two arches in Hackney. Inside, you'll find spacious kitchens, a traditional baker's oven, and a remarkable French stone mill. Flour is expertly crafted on-site, the foundation of their exceptional bread.

E5 is more than a brand; it's a catalyst for positive change. With each loaf baked, they strive to make a difference socially, economically, and environmentally. Join us on this extraordinary journey where sourdough baking becomes a transformative force, creating delicious bread while uplifting communities and treading lightly on our planet.
