Learn the art of weaving with Rosa! She will teach you the basic gestures on small frames on a table to discover the weaver's craft.
During the workshop, you will learn how to prepare your design, patterns, colours and material combinations.
The threads, but also the flowers, are crossed and crossed again in order to create patterns and textural effects according to your desires.
You will be able to create a wall decoration and play with colours and materials.
You will leave with your creation, a weaving frame and knowledge so you can continue handweaving yourself at home or even during travels.

Meet Rosa
Weaver
Rosa is an Amsterdam based - while often traveling & working- artist, specialised in textiles. Installations and performative aspects also appear in her work, regularly in collaboration with others.
Fascinated by societies which live collectively and in harmony with nature, Rosa researches two huge topics: how to live and work together. By working site specific and using weaving as main medium and as metaphor for creating connections; her practise intertwines art, craft, research and anthropology.
She weaves with local materials and dye wool with plants, food leftovers, spices and earth. Sometimes, she invites inhabitants to participate in the process of creating: resulting in a new collective language which conceals our exchange of gestures, knowledge and ideas.
We had a great time with Rosa! She's such an inspiring and friendly person. The workshop was really interesting, and the process of weaving itself turned out to be also so relaxing! We learnt a lot and was so happy with our little creations, definitely encouraged to do more of it! Thank you so much Rosa!
