Discover the world of mosaics with Sue

Join Sue in her sunny seaside studio at Shoreham Port, Southwick, and explore the practical art of mosaic making. With over 15 years experience, she has worked with some of the world's leading mosaic artists and she's ready to share her skills with you.

On arrival, Sue will welcome you and show you around her seaside studio. You'll start by discussing design options, choosing from templates Sue provides or working on a personal idea you bring along.

You'll be then preparing a surface suitable for indoor or outdoor use and drawing a basic design. Sue will introduce you to her collection of mosaic materials, including colourful tiles, glass nuggets and different shapes and textures. You'll have plenty of options to choose from when creating your artwork.

Sue will demonstrate the safe use of the essential mosaic tools. You'll learn how to cut and shape mosaic pieces to create lines, curves and shapes. With Sue's guidance, you'll start to work on your mosaic project, attaching the pieces step by step.

At the end of the workshop Sue will explain the grouting process to finish and seal your piece. You'll take home grout and instructions to complete this final step. Sue will also give you basic tips to help you continue your mosaic projects at home.
