Carine is thrilled to welcome you to a two-part workshop, spanning a total of 4 hours and 3 hours, scheduled on consecutive days.
During the first session, as you step into the workshop, Carine will introduce herself and share her journey. She will provide you with the fundamental principles of wood marquetry, including the essential tools and materials required to master this craft.
You'll then have the opportunity to choose your preferred design for the lid of your box, as well as select your favourite wood veneers from Carine's curated collection.
Guided by Carine, you will meticulously cut and assemble the wood veneers, piece by piece, bringing your design to life. You'll learn how to position and affix them onto the lid, creating a seamless composition.
The following day, upon your return, you'll unveil the result of your hard work as you remove the lid from the press. It's time to add the finishing touches: polishing, applying a protective varnish, and even staining the box if desired!
Finally, you'll proudly depart with your exquisite creation—a harmonious blend of modern and vintage aesthetics that is sure to make a statement in your home.
The workshop fee covers both days as described. By reserving through the Wecandoo website, you can select the date for the first session. Subsequent sessions can be scheduled directly with Carine. If the workshop spans consecutive days, the second session will automatically take place the day following your initial reservation.

Carine, the daughter of a cabinet maker, grew up surrounded by the scent of glue and sawdust. She initially pursued studies in communication and marketing, which she financed through a job in the restaurant industry. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for the craft, which she dedicated herself to for fifteen years!
However, back problems eventually forced Carine to leave the restaurant industry. As she searched for a new career path, furniture restoration emerged as a natural choice, combining her love for wood and her desire to breathe new life into objects.
Today, Carine works in a beautiful workshop located at the back of a vintage Italian furniture store, nestled in the heart of Sablon. Diligent and patient, she is eager to share her expertise and also change the perception of marquetry, which enables the creation of fantastic works of art!
Expérience très riche! Carine est une vraie pédagogue, elle prend le temps d'expliquer, d'accompagner la réalisation pour que cela corresponde à nos attentes. A recommander :-)
