Perfect for beginners, this session will guide you through the process of creating your own stained glass sun catcher.
Heather will begin by introducing herself and the art of stained glass, giving an insight into the tools and techniques she uses.
The practical work begins with cutting and grinding the glass, where you'll learn to shape each piece with care and precision. From there you'll explore the copper foil technique, wrapping the edges of your glass in preparation for the next step.
Soldering brings your creation together as you fuse each piece into a cohesive design. Heather will guide you through this transformative stage, ensuring your artwork takes on a beautiful shape. Finally, you'll add the finishing touches - polishing your piece, applying an optional patina for a unique effect and preparing it for display!

Praktische informatie
Due to the lead content in solder, this workshop is not suitable for pregnant or nursing mothers. Recommended for ages 16 and above.
While stained glass isn’t overly messy, we do use some chemicals that could stain, so it's better to play it safe and wear clothes you don't mind getting a bit dirty or bring your own apron. You can also bring your own protective gear (gloves, goggles,masks) if you would prefer to use your own.

Her work is a blend of nostalgia and nature, inspired by the charm of childhood toys and the beauty of the natural world. Heather carefully selects her materials, sourcing all her glass and supplies from trusted British companies, ensuring quality and supporting local businesses.
She's also passionate about sharing her skills and loves to help others unlock their creative side. Whether you're a complete beginner or someone who wants to try something new, Heather's enthusiasm and approachable style make her workshops both fun and inspiring!
