Step into our workshop and immerse yourself in the world of sustainable craftsmanship. We'll start with a brief introduction to the materials we work with and their eco-friendly origins. Your safety is our priority, so we'll also cover the proper usage of tools in a general safety meeting.
Now comes the fun part! We explore all the different types of brushes and pick one that strikes your fancy! These range from a grooming brush for your pet all the way to a professional grade rock climbing brush! Select the perfect piece of reclaimed wood for your brush and let your imagination run wild. Whether you envision a decorative masterpiece or a practical tool, you have the freedom to custom draw your brush shape or use our stencils for inspiration.
With the guidance of our skilled Harry and Johanna, you'll cut out your brush shape using our precision bandsaw and carefully refine it through sanding. Every detail matters, so take your time to achieve the desired smoothness and finesse.
Next, it's time to determine the bristle layout for your brush. Mark the ideal spots on your brush and skilfully drill holes to accommodate the bristle bunches. Don't worry, we'll assist you every step of the way.
As we approach the final stages, your brush will undergo sanding to achieve its ultimate finish. A touch of mineral oil will be applied, allowing it to dry gracefully before the bristles are added.
Get ready to embrace the bristle-making process! Using loose tampico or coconut husk plant fibre bristles and cotton thread, you'll create your very own bristle bunches. With precision and care, these bristle bunches will find their place in the holes you've prepared, completing the transformation of your brush.
Why is this workshop so special? Not only will you unleash your creativity and learn valuable craftsmanship skills, but you'll also be making a positive impact on the environment. By using reclaimed wood and eco-friendly materials, you'll be contributing to a more sustainable future.
You'll leave our workshop with your very own handcrafted brush, a true testament to your creativity and dedication. It's a unique and practical keepsake that you can proudly use or display in your home.

Meet Harry and Johanna, the dynamic duo behind their woodworking business. Harry, a skilled joiner from south London, and Johanna, originally from the Philippines with a background in props and special effects, have come together to create beautiful and unique wooden creations.
Harry's expertise lies in his craftsmanship as a joiner, while Johanna's passion for woodworking was sparked during her pursuit of props and special effects in the film and theatre industry. Together, they have combined their talents and set up their own business.
What sets them apart is their commitment to ethical and sustainable practices. They prioritise using recycled and reclaimed wood, giving new life to forgotten materials. Their approach is rooted in supporting local artisans and using organic materials whenever possible.
For Harry and Johanna, it's about passing on their passion and skills to others. They find joy in teaching and empowering individuals to create something with their own hands.
Step into their studio and you'll be greeted by a charming workshop nestled at the end of their garden. Filled with an array of tools and stacks of reclaimed wood, it's a place where creativity flourishes and old materials are transformed into something new and extraordinary.

As for their unusual passions, Harry has a fascination with traditional joinery techniques, constantly seeking to expand his knowledge in this area. Johanna, on the other hand, is an avid collector of antique woodworking tools, finding beauty and inspiration in these vintage treasures.
Together, Harry and Johanna are not just skilled artisans, but also dedicated teachers and advocates for sustainable craftsmanship. Their love for woodworking shines through in every piece they create, and they are excited to share their expertise with others who are passionate about the art of woodworking.
